We are making an indie title called Ascension (www.ascensionwar.com) and we are mid production, but we are still lacking some concepts for a couple structures. We do a sweat equity pay structure, meaning all work is added up and when the game releases and makes money we pay back the people who worked on it according to how much they put in. More specific details can be discussed later down the line, but that is the general idea. Please check out our media section of our website to gather a better idea of the level of art we are looking for and if you are interested, please contact me at:

zachariah.inks@digitalroar.net

Thanks

He is basically a Mix between the in game lurkers and the Actual concept art from the Blizzard staff ( so lets start by thanking them for the cool idea in the first place !) since the in-game version has almost no detail really i added a bunch to him and he will have fungus and bits all sticking out of his head and back.

I my first idea was to have him in a running type of motion, but then had a diff idea, and instead he will be standing there looking down as he is and when i get him done i am going to also sculpt my tauren warrior standing there in front of him. ok thats enough yakking, please tell me where and what i am doing wrong ! :)

Hi!

I have problems when trying to do foreshortening and proportions at the same time. I can't seem to find a way to accurately foreshorten something and at the same time keep the proportions the same. I've been looking for an answer for a while now and trying out all kinds of different strategies I?ve seen but none of them have worked for me. :[

Take the head for example . . . (I use Andrew Loomis' "Drawing the Head and Hands" book by the way) I have no problem drawing the heads when they're only moving from side to side but once I start moving them up and down, it becomes a problem. The head seems to foreshorten; when you're moving it up, the chin gets longer and vise versa. My question is how to keep these proportions in tact when foreshortening. How can I decide how much to foreshorten? I've been trying to simply "eyeball it" but no matter how long I practiced, the foreshortening either comes out wrong or the proportions are off. Is there some kind of rule involved when foreshortening? If so, I would like to learn it so that when I start drawing heads (and figures for that matter) of all divisions, shapes, sizes, and proportions, I will know how to take those diverse proportions and foreshorten them properly. :[ I don?t want to end up making a child?s face look abnormally mature when it?s tilting up due to not keeping the proportions consistent.

Any help will be greatly appreciated. :)

It was Craig Mullins that inspired me to paint digitally. The funny thing is that my first digital painting (with photoshop, right after dropping out of Art Center) looks better than my recent paintings nine years later. I've been drawing and painting on and off so my skill really hasn't improved significantly. Shame.

I learned how to paint with Corel Painter in CSUF. Well, I fell in love with Painter, except that I still have trouble with blocking the shape with a tablet. (a poor reason to buy a Cintiq)

I tried to paint with Photoshop and it looked horrible, looking like a painting done by a third grader. I got so used to Oil Pastel and Digital Water in Painter so I don't want to go back to Photoshop, except for blocking the shapes with solid colors with 100% opacity.

I wonder anybody out there has exactly the same problems: Hating Photoshop and having trouble with doing precise blocking and painting with a graphic tablet.
